I’m a research assistant in the Knowledge Discovery Unit at the Insight Centre for Data Analytics (National University of Ireland, Galway), working on the SSIX European Horizon 2020 project. I have recently graduated from the Erasmus Mundus European Master’s Programme in Language and Communication Technologies, as part of which I obtained an MSc in Cognitive Science - Language and Multimodal Interaction from the University of Trento (Italy) and an MA in Linguistics/Computational Linguistics from Rijksuniversiteit Groningen (The Netherlands). My Master thesis, entitled “When What Improves on Where - Using Lexical Knowledge to Predict Spatial Relations in Images” was co-supervised by professors Johan Bos and Marco Baroni. I investigated the use of lexical features derived from corpora and WordNet to improve semantic representations of images.
My research interests include Sentiment Analysis, Distributional Semantics, Language and Vision, and Machine Learning for Natural Language Processing.
