Alejandro Arbelaez received his PhD in computer science from UniversitéParis-Sud XI in 2011 for his work on applying learning-based techniques to solve combinatorial problems. He also holds an engineering degree from Universidad Javeriana (Cali, Colombia). After finishing his PhD he worked as a post-doc at the University of Tokyo in the Japanese-French laboratory for informatics. Since October 2013 he works as a post-doc at University College Cork in the context of the DISCUS project. Arbelaez’s main research interest include: Constraint Satisfaction Problems, Local Search, SAT, Parallel Search and Applying machine learning techniques to hard combinatorial problems.
