Trustworthy AI

Team Lead: Barry O’Sullivan

In April and December of 2018, the European Commission set out its vision for, “ethical, secure and cutting-edge AI [artificial intelligence] made in Europe”. Three pillars underpin the Commission’s vision:

(i)                  increasing public and private investments in AI to boost its uptake

(ii)                preparing for socio-economic changes

(iii)               ensuring an appropriate ethical and legal framework to strengthen European values.

To support the implementation of this vision, the Commission established the High-Level Expert Group on Artificial Intelligence (HLEG-AI) which published its “Ethics Guidelines for Trustworthy AI” in 2019. Professor Barry O’Sullivan is Vice Chair of this group.

Insight has the expertise to support organisations to learn about, develop, and deploy Trustworthy AI.
