Full Professor of Computing at Dublin City University since 1997, Founding Director of the Insight SFI Research Centre for Data Analytics at DCU.
Expertise in analysis, indexing and retrieval of all kinds of visual media, especially video.
Member of the Royal Irish Academy, winner of Academy’s Gold Medal for Engineering Sciences 2015.
Former Board member of Irish Research Council, former member of inaugural Scientific Committee for COST (€300M EU funds).
