Oksana Dereza is a PhD student at the Insight Centre for Data Analytics at the University of Galway, advised by Dr. John McCrae and Dr. Theodorus Fransen. She focuses on NLP for historical languages, Old and Middle Irish in particular, and her research is a part of the Comparative Deep Models for Minority and Historical Languages project (CARDAMOM).

Oksana holds an MA in Irish Language and Literature from Lomonosov Moscow State University (2015) and an MA in Computational Linguistics from National Research University “Higher School of Economics” (2017). Before starting a PhD, she was teaching Python, NLP and Modern Irish at both MSU and NRU HSE (2017–2019).
