Muhammad Sohaib Ayub

Postdoctoral Researcher

Dr. Muhammad Sohaib Ayub is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Galway, Ireland. He completed his PhD in Computer Science at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), where his research centered on data-driven approaches for context-aware sports performance assessment and web energy optimization. His research interests encompass data analytics, data spaces, machine learning and natural language processing. His research portfolio spans several areas, including sports data analytics, web optimization, wireless sensor networks, and machine learning applications in diverse fields such as Arabic OCR, biological data, and legal case prediction.

In addition to his research, Dr. Ayub has extensive teaching experience, having instructed various undergraduate courses at LUMS and FAST-NU and taught data structures, computational problem-solving, operating system and advanced programming. He co-advised numerous senior-year projects at LUMS where he incorporated hands-on learning and project management methodology. Dr. Ayub has been actively involved in several community services and academic organizations, reviewing journal papers, serving on program committees for international conferences, and contributing to workshops in cloud computing and high-performance computing. His academic contributions have been recognized through various awards, including travel grants and research funding.
