I’m joining Insight at UCD as the Pre-Award Research Grants Manager. My role is to support UCD Investigators and Early Career Researchers through the funding proposal development pipeline, particularly for NE-NC and philanthropic schemes. Please get in touch if you require assistance with anything ranging from opportunity identification and liasing with funding agencies and UCD’s central research supports to drafting budgets and non-technical sections and reviewing drafts for adherence to scheme remits.

Before joining Insight I was the Research Officer for the Centre for Experimental Pathogen Host Research (School of Medicine), where I helped develop a range of successful Horizon Europe and exchequer (HRB) proposals in the area of Infectious Disease Research. I sit on the Advisory Boards of AIREN (All Island Research Excellence Network) and UCD URMAN and organize professional development events for research administrators as part of URMAN’s Events Working Group. I’m a former humanities researcher and have held Wellcome Trust and IRC-funded postdoctoral fellowships at UCD (Humanities Institute and School of English) and the University of Edinburgh.

My interests outside of work include undisciplined reading (everything from contemporary Irish fiction to illness memoirs and science writing), swimming, Iyengar yoga, cooking, and hiking. I’m an intermediate French learner and plan to learn Irish very soon!
