Insight Wellbeing: The ‘black box’ of technostress and its effect on students

Technostress is what we feel when our technology use overwhelms us. We are all susceptible to it, but it is a particular issue for students who may be using technology for both social and academic purposes. Overall, extensive use of social networking, in particular, is cognitively costly and can lead to academic underachievment. Eoin Whelan and the team in the University of Galway have made some interesting findings and have recommendations for students, universities and the tech sector. Read the full study here
