Insight Wellbeing: Passive Prediction – a digital mental health tool for employees

Submitted on Friday, 04/11/2022

Passive Prediction is a digital mental health tool to improve employee mental wellbeing. It’s being developed by the Unit for Natural Language Processing at Insight in Ollscoil na Gaillimhe with support from Enterprise Ireland though the Commercialisation Fund. Fionn Delahunty and Mihael Arcan are leading the project.

The tool is revolutionary in its approach. Companies are aware that employees are under more stress than ever and have been trying to support them through the provision of wellbeing benefits. Unfortunately the uptake of these benefits is often lower than two per cent of the workforce, when upwards of 40 per cent could benefit from them. The Passive Prediction tool intelligently screens and triages employees to help them know when they need benefits and what which interventions are most appropriate for them at that moment in time.
