Professor Barry Smyth has been analysing the popular game Wordle this year, coming up with handy tips such as the best starter words. He has also looked into the widely held belief that the New York Times has somehow ruined the game or made it harder. (Hint, the data says no it hasn’t) It was only a matter of time before the research reached a wider audience and this week it did.
The research was the subject of a Mona Chalabi article in the Guardian and it also featured in Bloomberg Opinion’s weekly newsletter.
