Abid Yaqoob helps TY student to put on a VR headset

Five Insight SFI Research Centre for Data Analytics researchers and collaborators took part in the delivery of an exciting four-day engineering bootcamp at Dublin City University in April. The bootcamp gave students from St. Wolston’s Community College in Celbridge, Co. Kildare a hands-on experience of STEM with a focus on engineering. It was hosted by Phil Smyth, physicist, engineer and broadcaster and run by Intel with the support of the Faculty of Engineering and Computing and the School of Electronic Engineering, DCU.

Shirley Coyle (Insight Funded Investigator), Jaime Fernandez, Sonal Santosh Baberwal, Abid Yaqoob and Anderson Simiscuka (Insight postdoctoral researchers) took part in the bootcamp contributing to the practical workshops and talks covering such topics as Brain Computer Interface Systems, Smart DCU, Wearable Tech, Multisensory Media and Virtual Reality.
