Insight and ADAPT explore Franco-Irish AI collaboration with Mistral AI

ADAPT welcomed a delegation from Mistral AI to the ADAPT Centre at Trinity College Dublin to explore opportunities for collaboration with Ireland’s leading AI research community.  The visit was facilitated by Louise Dubrulle, Deputy Head of the Economic Department at the French Embassy in Ireland, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen links between Irish and French AI ecosystems.

The Mistral delegation consisted of Nicolas Schuhl of Applied AI, William El Sayed of Public Sector Initiative), and Audrey Herblin-Stoop, VP Global Public Affairs and Communications.   During their visit they met with Prof John Kelleher, Director, ADAPT Centre at TCD, Prof Noel O’Connor, CEO, Insight Centre for Data Analytics, Dr Abeba Birhane, Founder and Director, AI Accountability Lab at TCD, and Declan McKibben, Executive Director, ADAPT Centre.

Discussions focused on the potential for collaborative research and innovation, showcasing Ireland’s world-class expertise in trustworthy and applied AI.  The visit highlighted the depth and diversity of Ireland’s AI broader university-based research ecosystem, encompassing ADAPT, Insight, and the AI Accountability Lab, and shared ambitions for ethical, high-impact AI development across Europe.
