Professor Stefan Decker was a Professor for Digital Enterprise at the National University of Ireland Galway, Director of Insight at NUI Galway, and member of the Royal Irish Academy. He directed the largest Semantic Web Research group worldwide and helped to attract more than 60 Million Euro in Research Funding with direct responsibility of more than 30 Million Euro over a period of 10 years. Previously he held research positions at ISI, University of Southern California, Stanford University, and Institute AIFB, University of Karlsruhe. Stefan co-founded several start-ups and consulted for multinationals and startups in the Silicon Valley. He is one of the most widely cited web scientists in the world, and his current research interests include Open Data, collaborative systems, and the Future Internet.
