Kevin is currently a Research Integration Co-ordinator for the Insight Centre for Data Analytics at DCU. His responsibilities include building research capacity in the pure, applied materials sciences & big data. This is achieved through generation of external funding from national programs, industry and Horizon 2020 and managing relationships with Industry, local SME’s and academic partners, including EU and international laboratories.
Kevin undertook his Postdoctoral research at Dublin City University under a Marie Curie Re-Integration grant, and is previously a holder of an IRCSET EMPOWER award. He completed his PhD at Monash University (Melbourne Australia) and is also a certified Strategic Project Manager.
Kevin is a qualified physical chemist & materials engineer with over 8 years experience in the field. He is an academic referee for Elsevier, Royal Society of Chemistry and the American Chemical Society. He is author on 29 international peer reviewed journals (3 cover articles, H-index 11), 1 book chapter and 1 patent protecting his work.
Kevin Fraser received his PhD (2008), MSc (2004) and BSc(Hons) in Chemistry. Kevin has worked in many international research labs; University of North Carolina, USA (2005), Dublin City University, Ireland (2007), University of Wollongong, Australia (2009), and Centre Microélectronique de Provence, France (2011 - ongoing). He has attended 19 Invited talks, 23 poster presentations at Conferences around the world. He has also successfully organised 2 conferences (Australian Symposium on Ionic Liquids, Monash University 2006) and DCU (The 2nd International Symposium on Functional Nanomaterials, 2012).
