Guangyuan Piao is a PhD student at the Insight Centre for Data Analytics at the National University of Ireland, Galway, and his research is funded by SFI and SAP. He is working in the Unit for Social Semantics under the supervision of Dr. John G. Breslin, where his research focuses on user modeling (on the Social Web such as Twitter) & recommender systems using Knowledge Graphs such as DBpedia. He had worked in the automotive industry, Hyundai Motor group, for over two years in South Korea before joining the Insight Centre. He obtained his master’s degree at Yonsei University, South Korea, and bachelor’s degree at Jilin University, China, respectively.
His main research interests include user modeling, recommender systems, and knowledge engineering that across different venues such as User Modeling (UMAP, Hypertext etc.), Information Retrieval & Recommender Systems (ECIR, CIKM, RecSys etc.), and Knowledge Engineering (EKAW, ESWC, ISWC, SEMANTiCS etc.). He has served as a reviewer in venues such as ISWC, ESWC, EdRecSys.
