Dr. Salauddin Rasel

Postdoctoral Researcher

Md Salauddin Rasel recently joined as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Insight SFI Centre for Data Analytics, Dublin City University (DCU), Ireland. He is working under the direct supervision of Professor Shirley Coyle, at the School of Electronic Engineering, DCU. His current research interest includes designing and implementing energy-autonomous wearable electronics for healthcare applications. He is currently working on a hybrid energy harvesting technology to facilitate the self-powered sensing system.

Before joining Insight, he worked as an Assistant Professor for three years at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, East Delta University, Bangladesh. Md Salauddin Rasel received his PhD in Electronic Engineering from KwangWoon University, South Korea in 2019. His PhD thesis is entitled facile fabrication and performance optimization of human motion-based wearable triboelectric nanogenerators. His PhD research areas include energy harvesting, hybrid nanogenerators, self-powered sensors, polymer surface modifications, functional energy materials, energy storage & low-power management system, performance optimizations, wind energy harvesting, etc. Md Salauddin Rasel received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Applied Physics, Electronics and Communication Engineering from the University of Chittagong, Bangladesh, in 2012 and 2014, respectively. His research articles have been published in peer-reviewed and highly impacted top-ranked journals. He also presented his research works at highly reputed international conferences.
