Dr. Jiang Zhou’s research concerns  multimedia content analysis  by applying cutting edge computer vision and machine learning technology to address various needs and situations.

For example, when school children wear  wearable cameras, we can analyse the images to objectively ascertain children’s actual exposure to ads and other marketing  across all media and in multiple settings.. By applying  similar techniques to text (using Natural Language Processing), hateful speech on Facebook and Twitter, for example, can also be detected. As you can see, these applications are designed for the needs in real world, therefore Jiang’s work is strongly engaged with the industry.
