Highly experienced innovator with over 25 years’ experience in collaborative research & development roles. Have a unique blend of technical, program and people management developed while working on some of the largest telecoms infrastructural projects over the last three decades. I am highly motivated, pragmatic, and hard working with a practical experience of start-up (Aldiscon, DigitalGaitLabs) and corporate environments (Motorola, Nokia).
From 2004, I have worked as a senior researcher at the world-famous Bell Labs, carrying out research into edge devices/sensors, computer vision, artificial intelligence, and data analytics. I hold a Ph.D. in Computer Science, have authored 10 patents and over 20 publications.In the last 4 years, I have won commercialisation awards from Enterprise Ireland to bring my medical device research (i.e. GaitKeeper Project) from whiteboard to market. The GaitKeeper project overview: GaitKeeper is a state of the art, single camera, digital gait analysis system – making gait analysis as easy as recording a video. GaitKeeper takes gait analysis out of the lab and puts it into the hands of clinicians. GaitKeeper is CE marked and a class 1 medical device.
