Diego Ortego Hernandez is currently a postdoctoral researcher at Insight Centre for Data Analytics (Dublin City University) funded by Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) and advised by Dr. Kevin McGuinness. He works on computer vision research problems, mainly focused on unsupervised and semi-supervised learning techniques using Deep Neural Networks.

Diego received the M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering in 2013 (2007-2013), the MPhil degree in Research and Innovation for Information and Communications Technologies (postgraduate Master) in 2014 and PhD in Computer Science in 2018 at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (Spain). From 2012 to 2018, he was member of the Video Processing and Understanding Lab (VPULab) at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, where he participated in several projects dealing with computer vision tasks (EventVideo, HAVideo and MobiNet) collaborating with Dr. José M. Martínez and Dr. Juan C. SanMiguel. In particular, during his PhD thesis Diego mainly explored how to estimate segmentation quality in the absence of ground-truth and worked on event detection in videos.
