Girls Hack Ireland! March 2015 #GirlsHackIreland

The Insight Centre for Data Analytics, alongside the Stemettes, are hosting a GIRLS Hackathon event!

Date: Saturday 21st March 2015
Time: 10am – 6pm
Location: The HUB, Dublin City University, Glasnevin, Dublin 9

So what’s it all about?
Why should boys get to have all the fun? Science, engineering, technology and maths are areas that are mainly populated by boys - so we want to help even the score and show girls why these subjects are exciting, accessible and absolutely for GIRLS! The Girls Hack Ireland Hackathon aims to show girls how creative you can be in technology, as well as introduce them to many, many female mentors currently working in Science, Engineering, Technology and Maths careers.
This will be a day filled with fun, food, techy extravaganzas, learning new tricks, creating new things and meeting lots of interesting people.
A crack team of Stemette godmothers (www.stemettes.org) will be flying in from the UK, to help run the event, along with some of the top researchers from the Insight Centre.

What do I need for the day?
Just yourself - we’ll provide food, drink and anything else needed for the day.

Who can attend?.
The event is open to girls aged 15-17. Please note if you are under 16, you must bring a parent/guardian with you for the day.
Any participant availing of the Galway bus must have a parent/ legal guardian with them (including over 16s).
