Open Access Smart Cities Ireland wins international Smart Cities award

Open Access Smart Cities(OASC) Ireland, an initiative coordinated by Insight, has been selected as winner of the Smart 50 Awards Smart Cities Connect.  The Smart 50 Awards, in partnership with Smart Cities Connect, Smart Cities Connect Foundation, and US Ignite, annually recognize global smart cities projects. They honour the most innovative and influential work. This year, primary categories included governance, mobility, energy, citizen life, and networks.

A nomination was a huge achievement for the project. To win the award is a major coup for Dr Martin Serrano and his team.

OASC Ireland initiative acts as a replicable, scalable and sustainable model for the deployment of interoperable, nationwide, standard-based solutions using advanced IoT technologies such as the VITAL-OS platform (a project managed and coordinated by Dr Aqeel H. Kazmi and Dr Martin Serrano) and demonstrate their measurable benefits in communities and cities.
